What is the best way to treat tendinitis?

It's in my shoulder/upper arm area. It feels uncomfortable, how do I make it better?
Answer:
Get some extra virgin olive oil and some herbal cayenne powder(chili powder) at least 100,000 heat units(scoville units). Make a paste of the olive oil and cayenne mixture and apply it directly to the area that is affected. Leave it on for about an hour or so. Wash it off later. Do this two or three times a day. The heat from the cayenne brings the blood to the surface and helps heal strained muscles and arthritic joints by breaking up calcium deposits.
First, you should talk to your doctor about this. Second, my doc told me to rest it, take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen, and some say use ice for 20 minutes at a time several times a day. A few days of Ibuprofen and rest would help, I think. HTH
I take 2 products for my tendinitis
1. Alfalfa-very good for inflammation
2. Joint Health Complex-supports joint function, cushions and lubricates shock absorbing, maintains range of motion nourishes synovial sac between joints. Give them a try you won't be sorry.
Tendinitis Treatment Self-Care at Home
Rest
Immobilization of affected extremity
Ice to affected area
Ice the affected area 20 minutes at a time every several hours for at least the first 24-48 hours. Wrap ice in a towel to protect your skin. Change to heat treatments for the next several days.
Elevate and immobilize the affected extremity.
Use slings and splints to keep the injured area of shoulders and arms from moving.
Use of over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (such as Advil or Aleve)
Rest, avoid doing the activity that caused it, put ice on it for 15 mins a day for 2 weeks then put heat on it for 15 mins a day for 2 week also then heat every day until it heals, also taking anti-inflammatory medicines like advil or aspirin help alot.
