What is wrong with my leg?

My upper thigh hurts causing me to walk with a limp. I don't know what I could have done seeing as how I don't play any sports. How can I treat it and how long will it take?
Answer:
Is the pain anywhere else? Recent injury, even something you didn't think much of at the time? I had terrible leg pain, even went to a couple doctors who couldn't diagnose anything, couldn't see anything from x-rays. Turns out I had broken my tail-bone at a skating party--one of those things when you hurt yourself and feel o.k. (enough) and think nothing more of it. The result was mild sciatica--I limped around for a few weeks, but there wasn't actually anything doctors could have done. Get thorough x-rays/consult anyway. Sounds like you've pulled a muscle based on the info. you gave.Good luck
you might have sprained your self... sometimes you get sprained when you dont work much. just put some ice on it to ease the pain and eventually it might heal
It's about time that you need to see your family doctor. Don't ignore it. Because if you have pain on you right upper thigh, you might be suffering from hernia. Or you might have too much intake of salt. Better see your family doctor.
Have a nice day :)
Go to the doctor and check it out.
Good luck.
it is bursitis, it is an imflamation of the greater bursa. I had an injection in mine and it helped for a while. they pain is actually coming from your hip and then it radiates to the thigh.
What's wrong with your leg? you ask?Nothing;
It's as beautiful and gorgeous as ever!Well, NO; really, Sweetie, it could well be that your not playing any sports or at least, not properly engaging activity that could be the prime overall reason that you suddenly have this problem.
You need to get yourself into a daily [well 5 times per week] exercise program; the body was made for work; don't slack off on it; treat it with the needs and respect that it deserves - including putting it to the test.
As some people say, "The body was made for movement".
So, use it Honey ... you know the saying, 'Use it or lose it!"Now, to be more specific to your case at this particular instant, you may well find that much of your problem will be back-related.
You need to do stretches and exercises that open up your spine and stretch it - being your leg, specifically means that the lower back needs stretching.
You can roll around on the floor and bend over in a relaxed toe-touching position from a standing start and hold your position for 30 secs; you can also lie with back on floor and pull forward on your neck and head for 20 to 30 secs - all of whatever will stretch out your back.
The key, as much as possible, is to let your actual back relax when you use these other positions and use front-anterior muscles to stretch it.
Then gently exercise those lovely legs and get yourself fit.
God gave them to you to use and get them looking fit and good.
You could simply have a cramp or something. Try to stretch. I know it will hurt but you have to work the cramp out. After all the stretching do some walking.
what happened to your leg prior to having these symptoms? for now, put ice on it. if it is recent (24 hours). or use hot moist packs (if u have one), if there is pain. the best thing to do is to see a doctor and have the leg x rayed. it could be something like arthritis. if u had an accident, better see the doctor. u could have bone problem.
