what agrivates the skin so that it is in need of being scratched?
Answer:
Itching can either be a tingling, or an uncomfortable irritation that can be felt on one area of the skin, or varies places. Itching can be cause by bites from insects, such as bees, wasp, mosquitos, to body lice, or head lice. One may also itch from such things as sunburn, irritations from plants such as poison ivy, or allergic reation to things such as food or medicines. Some have also noticed itching during times of stress, during perspiration, and illnesses such as lupus, and leukemia. If there are patches of dry skin, they may also have a tendancy to itch. These patches can be a result from things such as dermatitis, irritants such as soaps, or fabrics. Some foods and drinks may cause one to itch. Pregnancy has also been a cause for women to itch. The best thing to do, is to take notice of what you are wearing, taking, eating or bathing in when you start itching. Also remember that certain health conditions are associated with itiching, so you may want to speak with your doctor if you haven't changed what you take a bath in, wash your clothes in, what you are eating, or what you are drinking. Irritation of the skin from chemical agents or elements usually outside of the human body.
The itch is caused by the release of histamine within your body. The skin comes in contact with an irritant setting off a chain of chemical events, resulting in the release of histamine into the blood stream.
